Being employed vs the Business man

What are your thoughts about an Entrepreneur vs. an Employee? Is it freedom vs security, is it mentality vs being safe or is it opportunity vs mindset?

We’ve always been taught the context of our lives to go to school, graduate college, get good grades, find a good job in the corporate world in order for us to be secure for life. But why hasn’t anyone ever told us that there are other contexts in life as in make mistakes to learn faster and in order for us to be rich is to never get a job? Does that have any correlation with the 80/20 rule? 80 percent of the world’s wealth is controlled by 20 percent of the world’s population.. Than I must be fooling myself and fooled by the system. Are we going back to the times before the industrial age where every man for himself? The only way to be rich is by having our own business instead of working for a company?

Just start reading yahoo, google, Wall Street Journal, Business Week or Fortune Mag and start watching CNBC, Bloomsberg or CNN, as many companies are down sizing, more looking to outsource as well as manufacture in countrys’ where the labor wages are lower. Licensing is a modern trend as taking employees in-house are a way of the past. Where are all the jobs going to go? What can we do now? We go by our old orthodox ways and listen to what our system is telling us and be fooled until we die?

In my opinion, being critical and skeptical are some of the vital aspects we should have in carrying out our lives. Being critical and skeptical does not mean live without a positive attitude, it just lets us probe into situations in greater detail where we will be able to analyze situations more precised in order for us to find real world solutions to our real world problems. Everyone of us has problems.. So always question your reality and your perception towards life.

The entrepreneur route is the way to go for me as I am experiencing about character building, enhancing in my business skills, opportunity analysis, human resource management, time management, project management, product development, legalities, communications, operating & establishing systems and lastly, personal finance as well as operational finance.

I see time as my most important asset as I use it to the maximum. I’ve experienced the corporate world where I have spent nearly 40 hours a week and spent 350 days of the year working for someone else to be rich. I’m not against anyone for being an employee because I think experience is far more important than money.. Its just that always remember to have the mindset of working to learn and not working for money.

Remember that money is just an idea that lets us think that we’re secure and lets us feel that we can buy things but in reality we’re not seeing the big picture.. Also, whats the point of saving money in the bank when in time, the value of the dollar will depreciate? I think saving money in the bank and being frugal is far more risky than investing our time and money to businesses & real estate. I personally know this will leverage our financial freedom.

Did you know that large corporations design their employees to be easily replaceable?

I’d like to speak about this topic after having numerous discussions with friends who share the same ideas and perception as me of freeing themselves from the 9 to 5 paradigm, but seemed to be too deeply embedded in the corporate world, where they see it a waste of time to start their life all over again and quit their 9 to 5 jobs.

It is an interesting topic that i’d like to bring up, because in this day and age, employees of the corporate world are more dedicated and loyal to their proffesions other than the companies they work for. They seek higher compensation, benefits, a more customized/fun work environment to work in, and seeking appreciation from their companies & employers. Basically, not many corporate employees these days are loyal to their companies.

I have come to learn that the Human Resource Department within each of these large corporations understand the ongoing trend of disloyalty, that they have established a system where every single one of their employees are easily replaceable. Some have 3-4 backups within the organization to prepare employees from exiting their organization.

From the skills they learn, the training in which they receive, their obligations to the company; organizations are more than ready to replace their employees. Don’t get me wrong that they want to get rid of their talented and best employees, but my point is that they shape their employees which in turn benefit the organization, to be easily replaceable. They prepare candidates from within the organization, as well as have candidates outside the organization to continue the job of a vacant position. Therefore, they do not depend on any “one” of their paid employees.

Another point is, the higher you are on the corporate ladder, the more intensed the organization will be in preparing other candidates to replace you. I’m not saying, they’re out there to replace you, but the organization especially the Human Resource Department are preparing for rain with an umbrella - by preparing other candidates.

Business is business, and there’s no point in taking it personal… so why not, just focus on our own business where we have the freedom to learn what we choose as well as knowing that no one out there is preparing to replace us.

In conclusion, corporate employees must understand (if they don’t already know) that their positions anywhere within the organization are easily replaceable and organizations will not depend on any paid employee for the direction and operation of their on going business. Therefore, please increase your skills by learning many other aspects of work in which will benefit you and your future.

Lets live and learn.

Turn Your IPOD into a Portable Educational Tool

I would like to share with you how I have turned my IPOD into a one stop entertainment and learning tool in which I can carry and have access to everywhere I go. I have uploaded so many podcasts/and business coaching material that my IPOD is not just an entertainment gadget to watch videos and listen to music, but it has become my audio/video library in which I can listen and watch podcasts/business coaching/business videos everywhere I go. I would listen & watch my educational material during traffic jams, before breakfast, during lunch, brunch, before/after dinner, and before I go to bed at night.

It has become very practical to those especially in constant travel as it also lets me focus by keeping the intensity alive within me to reach my goals. It has turned my days more appealing as having my IPOD around lets me always up-notch my energy level to succeed.

I suggest any of you who own an IPOD and is also in, “Pursuit of Freedom From The 9 to 5 Paradigm”, to transform your gadget into a portable educational tool.

It helps so much when you start to lose your energy level, focus or intensity in carrying out your days in seeking delayed gratification.

Keep learning and practice, practice, practice.

Need help? Just help others..

I came across a friend the other day who shared with me an interesting story in which I will bring up on today’s post. It is about helping others in order for us to receive help in return.

In today’s fast paced world, we have the tedency to focus and work on something that only benefits us and only us. We spend most of our lives living the process of helping ourselves to acheiving what we plan to accomplish. We consider jobs that only benefit us, we make sales calls that benefits us, we create business plans & strategies to benefit us, we use our links and networks to benefit us…. but have we ever thought about taking an action in order to purely help someone else..

Within the natural state of give and take, we tend to give because we have an interest to take..

Have you ever genuinely helped someone for the sake of helping them with no interest for your own benefits?

My friend spoke about the power of reciprocal return. If we help others, others will help you in different ways you could imagine. If we genuinely help someone full hearted with nothing to expect in return; one day we will almost automatically receive help from others.

So, lets develop our help habits and help those in need.

Can I help you?

I've been reading alot of material on the web and many books on personal development, self help or personal productivity that I have found out that why isn't there just one author that writes something without rambling on and on about their personal advice. I'm beginning to question some of these authors of how do they come up with the material when everyday they're writing new content. Is it make believe that they happen to solve so many problems within one day? and why do they write so many run on sentences?

In my opinion, when reading about self development, it SHOULDN'T be like reading a novel or a 400 page biography where all we need are points of great advice. Not run ons that make you sleep half-way through reading it. Theres just so much that our memory span can handle. I mean, we forget what we're thinking about before receiving that text message, let alone remember a run-on article that seemed to solve no problems except waste your own productive time.

People like me who seek self-development are searching for solutions to our problems. We need them fast and practical solutions. Any advice?
